So with all that done and still 376 days to go I'm stuck where I am now. Feeling like I have all my ideas rip roaring ready to just get done and come to life but yet I have so much time. Am I crazy for wanting to just do it all now? This was kind of my plan. Get everything done early so that come crunch time, instead of stressing out spending the last month, week, days doing everything, I can spend amazing quality time with my family that is going to be coming out here for this amazing day. If I'm honest I feel like I'm still spending way too much time posting ideas on Pinterest. Mostly because I guess I have this feeling that people really will think I'm crazy if I start getting all of my "little" things done.
Here's that list of things I know exactly what I want to do but feel like it's too early to start doing it. Let's call this the DIY (Do it yourself) projects.
Centerpieces -----> I've pulled this idea together from two different ideas on Pinterest. Taking a little bit from each Pin.
Needs: 3 Cylinder vases, 1 about 12 inches tall and the 2 others probably about 6 inches tall. Square Glass/Mirrors to set vases on. Black and White Gems or pearls to go in the bottom of vases. Floating LED Candles.
Here is a visual for reference:

So I shall mesh these two ideas together and get the centerpiece idea that I have in my head <3
What do you think??
Next: Table Numbers -----> Of course I got this from Pinterest as well. These will get incorporated in with the Centerpieces. So for this one when I found it it took me to a link where I thought that for the $25.00 that it said it was priced at that I was going to get them all printed already for me. Nope, I totally misread the seller notes. For $25.00 you basically got a PDF of the format so that you could print them yourself. Seriously?? That is redonkulous. I will save the $25.00 and will make myself. Basically I will just type it up how I want it and get them printed on some 8.5x11 standard size paper, probably a light card stock thickness though for obvious reasons.
Here is the image though from where I got the idea:
Last little DIY Project that has me intrigued to start right away. Again of course I stole it from Pinterest.
Alternative guest book idea -----> Why? Well here's why. Who the heck wants a guest book full of people's signatures? I mean honestly do you really think that a few years from now, or 10 years from now anyone cares to go through one of those and read your signatures? I know I don't want to so this idea is WAY more fun. Plus I know we'll have some jokers at the wedding so it will make for some good reading material. Here's how it works. I've come up with 5 questions that I'm going to have on sets of cards for each guest to fill out. Design wise I'm going to probably find index size cards, Black ones slightly bigger than white ones. (Framing illusion). Paste the white ones on top of the black ones and then paste the printed questions on the top centered. Everyone will answer the questions and put them in a basket. After the wedding we'll have a great time reading everyone's answers and then I'll make a scrapbook out of all the cards. Much better idea right? I can see us in 10 years going back and reading the cards and probably having a lot of laughs.
Here is the visual for a reference:
Oh and there is more that I'm already dying to do as well. Like send out Save the Dates. I figure I'm going to let this July 13th pass so that randomly people don't get them and think they have a week till the wedding accidentally if they read wrong. I've narrowed down to about 3 sets of invitations that I really like. Clearly we're so far off though from even needing to worry about those. I've put together the Excel Spreadsheet for Table Assignments, which again is so far off that I don't even know why I stressed about making that template already. To be honest this whole table assignment thing is the ONE thing that I'm DREADING the most. Good thing we still have a while for that.
So yea....it's been a little while since I last blogged and it's still a LONG while till this wedding and I'm getting impatient :(
Yay for all the stuff you have done!! :) I don't think you're crazy at all for wanting to get as much as you can done early. That's how I was too and it has been SO nice taking my time with everything! We have just over 3 months to go and I hardly have anything left to do, so I just get to relax and not worry about anything. Definitely the way to go. :)
ReplyDeleteThe only reason you may want to consider waiting on some of the smaller stuff is that you could easily change your mind - especially with all the great ideas out there on Pinterest and other sites! I've been putting off doing certain things like table numbers and escort cards because I keep seeing great ideas so I can't make up my mind! Loving all your ideas though!! Especially the guest book :)
