Roarin Rorie Turns 4 Months Old!!

Another month has flown by.  Parts of it seem kind of like a blur.  A lot has happened for us in the last month.  There are some big changes coming soon that are amazing for our family that soon enough we will share with everyone.  I know what you are thinking and NO WE ARE NOT PREGNANT again. LOL!!!  She's really cute but not cute enough that I want to try and have another one just like her :)  This past month has been huge for her development too.  It's been such a cool experience to watch her learn something and then just keep doing it over and over until she figures something else out.  The smallest things that she's doing really are some of my favorites.  I still can't believe how much I absolutely love being this little girls mommy.  She is the first thing I think about when I wake up (or should I say when she wakes me up) and she's the last thing I think about when I go to bed.  When I get to leave work and come home I get so excited to see her smiles and giggles when she sees me come through the door.  It is the best feeling knowing that she's recognizing me and getting just as excited to see me as I am to see her.  I'm getting so anxious for her to get to meet her Buffalo family next month too.  Part of me has actually been a bit emotional about it lately.  Sometimes it's still so hard being away from all of them.  Feeling like she's missing out on being around them and them getting to be around her.  I know we're going to get there and when we have to leave to come home it's going to be so hard.  Enough about being sappy and emotional, here is a look at a little update on the last month!

How old:  4 Months
Weight: 14.12 lbs
Height: 25.5 inches

Clothing size: We've now said goodbye to pretty much all of our 3 month stuff.  I seriously can't believe how big she is getting.  Depending on the brand there is some 3-6 month stuff we can still wiggle into.  For the majority though she's in 6 month.  She's even fit into a couple of 9 month things that weren't really that big on her.  Where did my teeny tiny baby girl go?

Sleep: Well.....I think we've hit that 4 month regression that everyone told me about.  The nights of sleeping all the way through after our night feeding until 5 am just aren't happening right now.  She's waking up a few times a night now.  Mommy is totally paying for it too.  It's been exhausting.  The drives to work in the morning have gotten a little more rough.  She still hasn't figured out a nap routine during the day either.  Hoping maybe we lock that down in the next couple months though.

Food: Still solely on breast milk.  Still getting two bottles during the day while mommy is away at work.  Pretty much still sticking with mostly 6 oz bottles, however she's gotten a few 7oz ones snuck in there.  The switch to the level 2 nipples was no big deal at all.  I seriously don't think she even noticed.  When I get home from work I'm still getting to nurse her and still haven't had any issues going back and forth between nursing and the bottle.  We've been very lucky still that she's been totally ok with it.  I'm getting super anxious to try doing cereal with her!!

Activities: The newest thing we've added to the daily activities is the Exersaucer that Gramma Dukes bought her.  She loves it.  It's been crazy to see how much she's developed since she's been using it too.  Even within the first week she was in it the amount of concentration and focus on the different parts of it was crazy to watch.  She's learning so much and so fast.  Such a smarty pants.  Still loves taking her daily walks with Gramma Dukes as well.  Somebody also is now rolling around a lot so that play yard she loves so much is getting lots of use....when she can stay on the mat! LOL

Likes: I'm telling you this is the happiest baby you are ever going to meet.  I really don't know many things she doesn't like.  The best right now is her right before getting into the bath.  Daddy gets her naked and brings her into the bathroom and she sees herself in the mirror and goes nuts!  Giggling and laughing.  Her little chubby legs and butt dimples kill me!!! She's so stinken cute.  I would have to say right now since we're in the beginning stages of teething that Sophie has become probably one of her absolute favorite things.  She's got that thing in her mouth about 90% of the time when it's within reach.  It's so cute, but such a mess.  The drool she produces is quite hilarious!  And we thought Ruxin was bad.

Dislikes:  If she's gotten fussy she hates when you sit down with her, MUST KEEP MOVING.  Other than that we still don't dislike too much.

Mood: Happy Happy and more Happy

Best moment this month: I think really this month has just been full of just loving everything she's doing and no specific moments.  She's just grown so much this past month and watching how much she's developed too has been really awesome.  I realized this month that I really miss my little baby but I'm so excited to see all of the things she's learning.  I think Halloween was pretty fun too.  We didn't go too crazy with a costume.  I just utilized her Batman onesie and turned her into Batgirl.  I'm realizing that it doesn't matter what the holiday is they are just so much more fun with her now.  Even though she doesn't really know or care they just are.

Looking forward to: Our trip back to Buffalo next month!! I'm so excited to finally get to go home.  My family is so excited to meet her and I seriously can't wait.
GO BILLS GO!
