Ten Question Tuesday

{one} What made you start blogging?
I had always loved writing.  I was the kid in college that on the night before a paper was due I could sit down and in two hours bang out 10 page papers like it was my job.  Skip the whole rough draft thing, skip the whole outline thing.  Didn't need it.  I could just sit and write.  My teachers hated it because they wanted to take points off for not having the outlines and rough drafts but at the end of the day the final draft was always excellent.  Okay, I'm tooting my own horn a bit.  I guess I missed writing.  When Wesley and I got engaged I thought it was the perfect way to tell everyone about the planning process.  It was also a great way to keep in touch with my family back east that wasn't here to help me go through everything.  It also helped my sanity to just be able to sit for a few hours at a time and write.

{two} What did you used to want to be when you "grew up"?
I think the earliest thing I remember wanting to be when I grew up was a Forensic Psychologist.  I watched way too many episodes of CSI and all those other crime shows when I was a kid.  Then I went through a phase where I wanted to be an Athletic Director, which is why I am 20K in debt from college for a degree that I'm definitely not using.  Ugh.

{three} What is your favorite holiday tradition?
My favorite thing is to spend "Black Friday" not shopping but getting the house decorated.  I've always anxiously awaited the day after Thanksgiving so that I could get the tree up.  My husband hates it.  I think one of my other favorite things is when I get to spend Christmas with my sister and her family.  Every year they line their front yard, back yard, the pool, everything with Luminaries on Christmas Eve (Basically brown paper bags with tea lights).  It's an absolutely gorgeous site when they all get lit up.

{four} Where is your favorite place to shop?
Depends on what I'm shopping for.  For Clothes I've been spending more time back at Express and then again at LuluLemon if I just want more leggings!!  For groceries, I'm more of a Pavillions girl these days.  Honestly part of me really just hates shopping.  I know crazy right?

{five} What is your favorite rainy day movie?
Right now I would say my go to would either be any of the Dark Knight series, Inception or Argo.  We don't get many rainy days though #sadface.

{six} Where is someplace you've always wanted to visit?
The ruins in Athens and the Coliseum in Rome.

{seven} Dogs or Cats?
Dogs all the way!  Cats are the worst.  They make you sneeze.  They give you an irritating itch in your throat.  They want to rub themselves all up on your leg.  Ugh, get away cat!

{eight} Who or what inspires you most?
I think my family is what probably inspires me most.  They are a driving force behind what really motivates me, what supports me, and what pushes me to strive for the things I've always wanted.

{nine} If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I can't lie I rather enjoy living in California now.  We have pretty near amazing weather year round.  Easy access to the beaches where we are.  Can't really complain.  I guess if I had to pick a place other than that though I would probably say either Rome or London.

{ten} What is your favorite book of all time?
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom.  I had this book given to me back in high school by one of my favorite teachers.  He had said it was one of his favorites and thought I would really enjoy it.  He was right.
Favorite quote from the book:

“You see, you closed your eyes. That was the difference. Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them, too--even when you’re in the dark. Even when you’re falling.”
